Geraldine Young

Geraldine Yvette Young was born on February 25th, 1957 to the late Rudolph and Mallie Young.
In addition Geraldine would gain a bonus mother in Catherine Robinson. Those who preceded
her in death are her nephew Stanley Johnson, her grandmother Hattie Murray, her siblings; Paul
A. Young, Pauline D. Young, William Holliday, Michael Holliday and Margo Johnson.
Geraldine accepted Christ as her lord and savior at an early age. After recommitment she was
baptized at Enon Church where she became an active member.
Geraldine was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, and later received her GED.
Geraldine was employed as a Case Manager with Vision Quest for several years.
Geraldine affectionately known as "Pookie" was able to light up any room she entered with that
beautiful smile, fashionable style, that nice hair do and her calm nature . Pookie also knew her
way around a kitchen, she loved cooking for family and friends, especially during the holidays! If
she wasn't cooking, she was at a restaurant or a gathering where food was definitely on the
menu. Pookie possessed many talents, entrepreneurship was her career and she knew how to
make a dollar. Pookie sold clothes, books, gift baskets for every occasion, banana pudding and
dreams. Pookie had the gift of gab, her favorite phrase/question was "Can you Cash App me? I
will pay you back double" I mean her cash app name was "where's my money 225." All in all,
Pookie had a big heart, she was kind and loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as
other family and friends. If Pookie wasn't home or at your house, you could surely find her at the
casino!
Geraldine leaves to cherish her precious memories: her five children, Curtis O'Neal, Catia
O'Neal, Tyree O'Neal, David Young, Brandon O'Neal and bonus son Romone; three sisters
Deborah Johnson, Zelda Suggs and Deborah Holliday, one brother-in-law; Mr. Upal DeSilver, 6
grandchildren; Crisden "Maj" Soto, Ameerah Young, Amaya Young, Kaniyah O'Neal, Mijah
Young, Mailani Young and two bonus grandchildren; Jada Colon and Malieyah Davis. In
addition, her bonus sisters, Brenda, Stephanie, Lynette, Wanda, Helen, Adele, Angie, Vernice,
Yvette and Keisha. A very special friend "Jameel Sunett" and last but not least the love of her
life, Curtis O'Neal, and host nieces, nephews and cousins.
